First we get a local passport at the office.
I went to his orphanage with Samantha while Ma, Sadye and Yoyo waited in the bus.
Yoyo's Orphanage |
It is here at this post that orphan babies are often left for the orphanage's care.
A little heat in each room, but people wearing many, many layers.
I saw his crib. It is in the center of the photo.
Was told that there was not a crib mate but rather he mourned the nanny who would soothe him as he went to bed.
The 2 nannies who cared for Yoyo |
It was an institutional place that they clearly worked hard to make nice.
Playroom |
Indeed, this one did have water and electicity as compared to Samantha's that did not have water and only one room with electricty that I know of.
The groups of little kids awaiting adoption. |
Children In Class |
Apparently, this is a new time for China in that people are taking more interest in orphanages these days. Indeed there was a group of high school girls touring this afternoon.
Today we learned that YoYo is able to use a straw. Helpful indeed.
YoYo has a fever this evening and vomited once. Waiting to see what will develop.
I think before he developed the fever and vomit, he had a good day. He actually was laughing and that warmed all of our hearts in a way quite impressive.
We returned after dark to the hotel from the day out and we saw several fireworks displays. YoYo picked them out and let us know they were going on.
The day has killed us, so we are all going to bed.
Joining the others in our exhausted state.
